All Daiko head units support multiple video formats, making them compatible with most reverse cameras, including both factory and aftermarket models.

Basic Principles for Connecting a Reverse Camera:

1. A camera requires a power supply to operate.
2. The video output from the camera must connect to the head unit's video input.
3. The reverse trigger wire from the vehicle should connect to the BACK (REVERSE) wire on the head unit.

Important Notes for Connecting a Reverse Camera to a Daiko Head Unit:

1. Video Input Connection:
- The head unit’s video input is a single female RCA connector attached to a white 10-pin plug that connects to a matching port on the head unit.

2. Mandatory Connection:
- This video input connector must be plugged into the head unit, even if no reverse camera is connected, as it contains the WiFi and Bluetooth antennas for stable wireless connectivity.
3. Do Not Connect to Short Blue or Black Wires:
- Avoid connecting any wires to the short blue or black wires coming from this connector, as doing so could damage WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity.
4. Reverse Trigger Wire Location:
- The reverse trigger wire is the pink wire #5 labeled BACK (REVERSE) in the main black connector.

Instructions for Different Camera Types:

- For Aftermarket Reverse Cameras:
Follow the installation manual provided by the camera manufacturer. Most aftermarket cameras include a male RCA video output connector that plugs directly into the head unit’s camera video input.

- For Factory Reverse Cameras:
There are two scenarios based on the setup:

1. If the supplied harness includes a CAN bus adapter:
- When using a factory camera, connecting the reverse trigger wire to #5 is unnecessary, as the CAN bus box includes a reverse control line linked to the #5 BACK wire. You can visually confirm this connection, as not all CAN bus boxes support this feature.
- For aftermarket cameras, disconnect the #5 wire from the CAN bus, then connect the reverse trigger to #5.

2. If no CAN bus adapter is required:
- If our harness includes a yellow A/V video output cable, connect it to the yellow camera adapter.
- If the harness lacks a yellow A/V video output for your reverse camera and you wish to retain the OEM camera rather than replacing it with a Daiko AHD camera, you will need a third-party retention adapter. Alternatively, replace the OEM camera connector with a male RCA and connect the power supply wires.
